GT Cup Europe race at Hockenheimring proved to be a challenging affair for SP Racing Porsche 992 GT3 Cup teams.
Qualifying 1, held under sunny skies following earlier weather concerns, saw Luca Maria Attianese suffer an early and costly puncture, relegating him to 15th overall and 5th in the Pro-Am category. Stefano Zerbi fared similarly, finishing 22nd overall and 9th in the Am class. Undeterred, Attianese and teammate Riccardo Romagnoli showcased their driving prowess in the subsequent race. Despite the track’s notorious difficulty for overtaking, they delivered a masterclass performance, securing an impressive 8th overall and a well-deserved P2 in Pro-Am. Meanwhile, the duo of Stefano Zerbi and Mark Speakerwas battled hard to cross the finish line in 16th overall and 8th in the Am category.
Qualifying 2 presented a different challenge with wet conditions testing the drivers’ skills. Mark Speakerwas and Riccardo Romagnoli both demonstrated good pace, managing to secure 17th and 18th overall respectively, both placing 6th in their respective categories.
Building on their qualifying efforts, both pairs executed well-managed races. Romagnoli and Attianese ultimately finished in 12th place overall and 5th in the Pro-Am category, while Zerbi and Speakerwas brought their Porsche home in 22nd overall and 9th in the Am class, marking a day of hard-fought battles and strategic racing.
